The firt tune up is the most Important usally at 1000 miles. The vave adjustment at this stage provides proper clearance for the seats so that the engine will break in properly so as not to have problems later on. After the 1000 mark it is not as important as to when they are done Suzuki recomends at the 6000 mi mark. usally best before the 10,000 mark. The RF have shim under buckets which will take a good 3 to 4 hours to check depending how good or experianced the mechanic is. unlike reed valves or tappets shim unders are verry good at staying with in thier tolerances. I have seen some instances of them going as long as 40-50,000 miles without needing adjustments. but if you want to be safe it goes 1000, 6000, 16000, 30000, then every 10000 after this is a good idea becase other problem can also be revieled while doing this kind of maintenence ie: cam wear
